about

This was created by projecting field recordings of 12 extinct species of birds into two separate areas of the Arcata Bottoms (occupied Wiyot territory) and recording the ambiance of the surrounding area as it was affected by the projected audio. The landscape here is an area of salt water marshes turned into pastures and as such, is rich in avian diversity. There is definitely a correlation between the sounds the wildlife are making and the presence of the audio.
